Of Counsel

David Anglin

J.D., LL.M.

Former Commander of the U.S. Army Claims Service with 30 years practicing law — bringing experience from both sides of the federal claims process to veterans and their families.

About David

David Anglin spent 12½ years with the U.S. Army Claims Service, including seven years as its commander, and has practiced law for 30 years. That career gives him an uncommon vantage point on the federal claims process: he has evaluated claims from inside the government and now advocates for the people bringing them.

Before taking command of the Army Claims Service in 2019, he served as Chief of its Tort Claims Division and as a Military Magistrate with the U.S. Army Trial Judiciary. His Judge Advocate career also included service as Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve and as Staff Judge Advocate for First Army Division East. He relinquished command in July 2026 after 37 years in uniform.

He holds a J.D. from Southern University Law Center and an LL.M. in Military Law from The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School, and has been a member of the State Bar of Louisiana since 1997. The Judge Advocates Association named him an Outstanding Career Judge Advocate in 2011.

Today he uses that experience from both sides of the claims process to help veterans and their families secure the justice and compensation they deserve.

“I spent 12½ years with the U.S. Army Claims Service, including seven years as commander, and 30 years practicing law. Today, I use that experience from both sides of the claims process to help veterans and their families secure the justice and compensation they deserve.”

Understanding the review

Explore the questions

Understand the careFrame the medical questions.

Medical experience helps inform questions about the treatment, the sequence of events, and what the available records may help explain.

Useful to knowThe purpose is to understand the care and identify the details that need closer examination.

Connect the issuesBring the legal requirements into view.

Legal experience helps frame the issues of duty, causation, eligibility, and the procedures that may apply to the circumstances.

Useful to knowThe medical account and the legal requirements need to be considered together.

Discuss next stepsClarify what needs further review.

The information available, the gaps that remain, and the potential claim routes help shape a discussion of possible next steps.

Useful to knowAn initial review is a starting point for questions, not a prediction of an outcome.

Every potential claim depends on its own facts. A poor outcome alone does not establish malpractice.
